Installing Xfce 4.2 on Fedora Core 3
I used the following steps to install Xfce
4.2 on my Fedora Core 3 system.
1. Install the dbh package
from here.
rpm -Uvh http://www.us.xfce.org/archive/xfce-4.2.0/rpm/fdr/dbh-1.0.20-1fdr.i386.rpm
The dbh package included with
Fedora Core does not contain the dbh-1.0.pc
file that is required for Xfce installation.
2. Download the os-cillation Xfce installer.
http://www.os-cillation.de/download.php?file=xfce4-4.2.0-installer.bin
3. As the root user, run the os-cillation Xfce installer.
sh ./xfce4-4.2.0-installer.bin
When installing, I checked Extensive
Optimizations and Use Alsa for
the Xfce Mixer, and left Setup
Display Managers checked.
