Recovering from a hung system

Use the following procedure to force a crash dump on a hung HP-UX system:
  1. From the system console, press Ctrl-B
  2. Press Enter twice
  3. Enter tc
  4. Enter Y
  5. A system crash file will appear in /var/adm/crash or the SAVECORE_DIR directory in /etc/rc.config.d/savecore (HP-UX 10.x) or SAVECRASH_DIR in /etc/rc.config.d/savecrash (HP-UX 11.00).
