"The Red Hat Enterprise Linux installation tree in that directory does not seem to match your boot media."

This error message from anaconda indicates a mismatch between .buildstamp on initrd.img and .buildstamp on stage2.img.

I received this error during a Kickstart when the following was true:

1. An installation boot CD-ROM was created from isolinux/* on RHEL 4 AS CD 1 using this process.

2. The installation tree specified in the url line of the Kickstart file contained files (RedHat/{RPMS,TRANS.TBL,base}) from RHEL 4 AS Update 4.

.buildstamp from initrd.img (RHEL 4 AS):
200505251205
Red Hat Enterprise Linux
4
RedHat

.buildstamp from stage2.img (RHEL 4 AS Update 4):
200608022222
Red Hat Enterprise Linux
4
RedHat

As a fix, I created an installation boot CD-ROM from isolinux/* on RHEL 4 AS Update 4 CD 1 and used that when performing the Kickstart.
